Quite a while back I had an MSR Sweetwater pump-syle water filter that was mil issue in OD Green and black as opposed to the civilian version in white and red. MSR has long touted their ties with the military and every so often we'll see some mil-issue items that are similar to commercially available items. In 2003 the DOD placed a large order with MSR for a very small and lightweight water purifier: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0EIN/is_2003_Sept_16/ai_107795455/

I've recently obtained a mil-issue version and thought I'd post up a few photos

Purifiers in civilian and miltary color schemes

You can purchase the tan colored version from various places on-line: http://www.skdtac.com/MSR_MIOX_Purifier_Military_p/msr.102.htm

I just picked up an MSR microflow gravity filter (Even though Cabela's had the picture and description of a MSR microflow microfilter listed). I was going to send it back, but since it only cost $30 I might as well keep it.
